Miyajima 

How to get to Miya-jima?

Jima (Shima) means Island in Japanese so you need to take a ferry to take get here.

From JR Hiroshima Station to JR Miyajima-guchi Station is around 30mins train ride, after that you can take a ferry for only 10mins. 

Both train and ferry transportation are covered by JR Pass Nationwide.

What to do in Miyajima? How long to stay in Miyajima? 

Main sightseeing spots "Itsukushima Shirine" and "Shopping/Food District of Miyajima" are located within 30mins walking distance so you can enjoy within half day. 

But if you have time, it is better to stay one night in the island. There are many Ryokan Hotel (Japanese Style Hotel) so that you can explore more like locals.

"Itsukushima Shrine" and "The Shrine in the Sea" are registerd as World Heritage sites by UNESCO. Don't forget to take picture with deers.

When it's low tide, you can go closer to the floating gate.

At the night time, you can do cruising and see the lighted up floating gate, which is a privilege for those who stay a night in Miyajima.

Shopping/Food District of Miyajima

You can walk around and eat around, the length of the district is 350m. There are shops for Pasalubong and local crafts.

Mt. Misen 

Mt. Misen is known as power spot, the place that you can receive the good luck. Cherry bloosom season in early april and Autumn leaves season  in mid november are the best season to see spectacular scenery. You can take a ropeway to the top or you can hike for around 3hrs roundtrip. On the top of the Mountain, There is the Shishi-iwa Observatory, which offers amazing views of Miyajima and beautiful surroundings.
