Best time to visit Kyushu

Based on what I have experience, you can visit Kyushu Japan at any time of the year as it is a great place to visit all year round. Kyushu has its charm and rich with historical, cultural, natural scenery and beautiful at every season, whether spring, summer, autumn or winter. I’ve experience to travel in Kyushu by month of May and early December and I could say that if you want to see wonderful sceneries – that is the best time to visit. For me this is the perfect destination to visit as travel expenses is much cheaper compared with those busy city.

Where to Stay in Kyushu

Kyushu is a really huge island; you better make sure to stay at least 2 nights per destination you want to visit. But it will be depend on your itinerary. For Kyushu itinerary by using public transport, for first timer – close to station is recommendable. It provides access to most of the attractions and easy getting around. One of the great examples is Fukuoka. We stayed at Hakata Comfort Hotel and it’s only just a walking distance to Hakata Station. Another Hotel recommendation is at Hotel Monte Hermana Fukuoka- if you want to be close at shopping area.

Getting Around To Kyushu

By Shinkansen: You can take a bullet train from Tokyo Station to and Fukuoka (Hakata Station) that are connected with Tokaido/Sanyo Shinkansen. One way journey takes about 5 hours and costs about ¥24,000. Only the Foreigner travellers can only avail the the Japan Rail Pass to save on this bullet train ride.
However, take note that JR Rail Pass is not valid for Nozomi trains and have to ride the Hikari train instead. Having a JR Pass will be more efficient and convenient especially travelling to Kyushu.
