Now let me share our itinerary and be inspired to fill in your Japan Bucket list with a piece of experience in Hokkaido.
Hokkaido prefecture is located in the northern part of Japan. Everyone knows that the
best time to visit it is during February to witness the yearly celebrated snow festival but the real
thing is; you can enjoy it anytime with its different season.
6DAYS 5NIGHTS HOKKAIDO ITINERARY (Apr 5-10th, 2019)
It’s been a year but I can still remember the snow falling down on my hand and experienced the coldest summer of my life. I can still taste the fresh king crab/grilled fish and unlimited beef with a bottle of their very own Sapporo Beer. I can still hear the loudest sipping of noodles on my ramen and its undeniable soup that was so good.
DAY 1: MANILA-CHITOSE
From Manila, we had a direct flight via Philippine Airlines and if you preferred a direct flight please keep it in mind that they only have a Monday, Wednesday and Friday flight schedule.
First day, we visited first the Jigokudani Valley and Lake Toya.
DAY 2: HAKODATE
The best part of it was we were able to reach the last part of southern Hokkaido which is in Hakodate. It is almost a 4 hours drive from Sapporo. It's a long drive but surely it will be worth it. It's a place where you can see and give you a glimpse of history about Goryakaku Park (shaped like a star to protect the emperor during edo period) and then during sakura season it will become a pinkish park that will surely worth to visit.
In Hakodate, we also visited some churches like Russian Orthodox Church, Catholic Motomachi Church, St John's Church, Hakodate Church.
Then roam around in the redbrick warehouse to check the different crafts/ products or you can try their Hakodate famous burger which is the "LUCKY PIERROT" and Gelato.
And lastly nothing beats with the HAKODATE NIGHT VIEW. It is awarded with 3 star of Michelin Guide which is a must to visit. When I saw the bird’s eye view of Hakodate when the day change into night it feels like buildings turns into stars that shines to inspire.
