Check My Other Article: Travel Tip of Singapore -How To Save Some Time and Money?-
There are lots of flight options going to Singapore and fare is fairly cheap, plus you may get a promo fare if you book way in advance.
Singapore is a small country with plenty of tourist spots; I included here those that we have explored. If you are planning your trip now or in the future, hope this helps.
Merlion Park
The half-lion, half-fish statue or the “Merlion” serves an irreplaceable reminder of Singapore’s history. It became the embodiment of the country.
Merlion Park is one of the most visited places for tourists, with the Merlion being one of the most photographed icons of Singapore to date. You will also have the full view of one of the most luxury hotel in Singapore – Marina Bay Sands. At night, there will be incredible light and water shows.
There’s no fee to visit the park, so you can visit the enduring Singaporean symbols for free.
Gardens by the Bay
Singapore offers attractions which prove that technology and nature can complement each other. The techno-garden theme park has a lot to offer but we wish to highlight few.
One of the largest greenhouses in the world, Flower Dome shelters a great variety of flowers and plants from all over the world. As you walk around, it will make you realize the importance of taking care of the planet especially preserving flora that constitutes the world’s natural heritage – which is the attraction’s main objective.
A 35-metre spiral pathway covered by a mantle of vegetation, Cloud Forest is next to Flower Dome. Indoor man-made waterfall will greet you as you enter. It’s quite surreal as you will have a kind of feeling that you’re walking in a movie while you enjoy spectacular view of plants.
One of the most iconic and recognizable attractions in Singapore, Super Tree Grove is a combination of nature and technology. These trees are multifunctional that act as canopies and shade the area during the day.
At night, they come alive with lights and sounds as there will be spectacular light show which is open for locals and tourists. There will be a large grass field where people bring picnic baskets and blanket as they wait for the light show to start. The lightshow itself is about 15 minutes long.
There is a restaurant located at the tallest SuperTree itself - SuperTree by IndoChine. The restaurant has a rooftop terrace and a bar at the centre of it with spectacular 360-degree view of the Gardens by the Bay.
Marina Bay Sands
The Marina Bay Sands Hotel and Casino has a lot to offer: its mall, premium outlets, signature restaurants, numerous tourist attractions and activities. Yet, the highlight of our stay in Marina Bay Sands is the famous Infinity Pool – which is exclusive only to hotel guests.
The room and other hotel facilities are incredible. However, the pool experience is extraordinary. It is worth every penny we spent when you combined it with the unbeatable view.
During our stay, special requests were highly prioritized. As we entered the room, there was a birthday cake (to celebrate my aunt’s birthday) and a greeting card to welcome us back. We also enjoyed the spectacular view of Gardens by the Bay from our room.
What to Eat in Singapore
When we travel to other country, local street food is a must-try. The most affordable way to experience Singapore local food will be in food courts or locally known as “Hawker Centres”. They offer wide variety of local dishes at very reasonable price.
If you want to enjoy your meal with a view, Makansutra Glutton’s Bay is one of the must-go in your list. The hawker centre is open-air which gives their guests the opportunity to see the spectacular view of the Marina Bay skyline. As it is located near Esplanade Threatre, you may also enjoy street performances to entertain you while you eat.
When you are in Marina Bay Sands, there are plenty restaurants to choose from. But, if you’re undecided where to eat, we recommend “Rasapura Masters” where you can find different Asian cuisines in one place. The hawker centre is located adjacent to the Ice Rink.
