My Dream Vacation, World Dream Cruise - Part 1-

H ave you ever considered cruising on a luxury cruise line? Why don’t you try to travel by sea? World Dream Cruise will let you bring to Asia’s well-known destinations while experiencing onboard amenities and providing world-class entertainment.

This might help you consider going on a cruise. Here are the things you can expect.

Book air ticket

Book air ticket to the country where the cruise will start – our cruise started in Hongkong and we arrived Hongkong day before our cruise and flight back to Manila was two days after our cruise.
If you don’t want to be in a rush, you may arrive in the country day/s before the cruise but some of my companions took same-day flight and cruise departure but ensure that you will be on time at the cruise port before the last boarding time.

Pre-cruise preparation

  1. Travel Documents – passport, at least 2 photocopy of passport bio-page, cruise confirmation slip/ticket, visa (if applicable). Philippine passport holders mostly do not require visa when cruising even for countries requiring tourist visa like Japan or Korea; this must be checked and confirmed prior to reservation.

  2. Clothes – mostly clothes needed are just casual clothes for day time and smart casual at night; ensure to bring closed toe shoes as slippers are not permitted in certain areas. Bring also swimwear and sports/active wear as there are outdoor activities to be enjoyed.
  3. Luggage – each guest is allowed to bring up to two pieces of luggage onboard; from my experience, they don’t weigh the luggage but you have to consider the luggage to bring based on the airline’s baggage policy if you are travelling by air.
  4. Money and Charges – ensure to have your money exchanged to Hong Kong Dollar as World Dream’s currency is Hong Kong Dollar. Currency Exchange is also available onboard. Prepare also for the Gratuity to be paid onboard; all guests are imposed to pay Gratuity of HKD 120 per person per night (Gratuity policy/rate is subject to change) which shall be payable prior to disembarkation.
  5. Dream Cruises Mobile App – download this app before getting onboard. When you are onboard, use the app anytime to check your onboard statement, send chat messages to your cruise mates, as well as view daily program schedules and details of onboard attractions and facilities such as location and opening hours

  3. Present travel documents and Confirmation Slip either at the counter or self-service kiosk to claim the cabin access key card.
