1. MYKONOS
Known as a party island and most expensive Greek island. Large crowds are from April to October. This island is popular with visitors from all over Europe and the rest of the world. It is one of the most picturesque Cycladic islands, presenting picturesque narrow streets, white houses, chapels and windmills. Hora constitutes also the base of operations for discoveries, with regular itineraries of buses or other means towards the remaining beauties of Mykonos, the picturesque hinterland and the spotless beaches.The entire cluster of Mykonos, Delos and Rhenia, is a region of “particular natural beauty” and is protected by special legislation. It has become the beloved place of artists and international celebrities.
2. SANTORINI
One of the world's best sunset spots. Frequently included among the best destinations in the world. The volcano's eruption destroyed the center of the island (during the 2nd Millenia), which sank, creating today's Caldera.
- It is told the destruction of Santorini could be related to the mythical Atlantis.
- Akrotiri is the most important archaeological site of Santorini with amazing two and three-story buildings and prehistoric findings dating back to 3600 BC. Due to many cruise ships docking in the island but also due to high demand as a destination
- Recently the tourist season has been extended from early April until early November.
3.ZAKYNTHOS
It is an island, like Santorini. It needs a ferry connection. Day trip from Athens is not possible.Not so popular among Asian tourists, but slowly getting attention due to Chinese groups attention. This is not recommendable to visit for first time visitors or 6-7 days programs. This can be visited if the program is 9-10 days. Navagio (Shipwreck) became popular because of one Korean Drama that was shot here.
4. METEORA
A small town and a 7 hrs drive from Athens. It is included in the World Heritage List. It is a rock formation in central Greece hosting one of the largest and most precipitously built complexes of Eastern Orthodox monasteries, second in importance only to Mount Athos
5.PELEPONNESE
Located in the Western part of Athens and the land of Sparta. Starting from the Corinth Canal it cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, arguably making the peninsula an island.
6. THESSALONIKI
Located in Northern Greece , it is the second biggest and crowded city in Greece. Many influences from Ottoman Empire and Turkish culture. Popular sites for Christian pilgrim tours.
